There are many kinds of Taiwanese cuisine that we can enjoy with its taste anytime. I would recommend you taste some. I’d like to talk about some food that I’ve ever tasted it, and it became my interesting food. I am pretty sure that if I visit Taipei again, I will eat it as my second times. What a tasty meal!
I will begin from the first meal. Of course, we will get the menu brochures which available in restaurants. We just look and select some menu – waiting for a while.
My first meal was served together consisting stir-fried Cantonese vegetables with pork on top, beef-noodle, radish soup, and sweet egg with peanut and pearl as a dessert. It was a tasty dish -Especially, popular food like beef-noodle. The taste was good and not spicy.
Childhood memory meal
I remember that it was rain at that time. Many shop were closed, but even then I could fine a restaurant opening. I headed to the restaurant, and ordered my dinner meal before I went back to my accommodation. My meal was served together.
I ate stir-fried morning glory Taiwanese style with fired garlic on top and dried shredded pork and fried pork with rice. In my personal opinion, the pork had a little sweetness mixed with oily pork, it became perfectly taste. It was one of my favorite dishes.
Today’s meal made me thought back to childhood memory. When I was elementary school, there was a subject that everyone in the class should have done it. It was planting subject, we could select any plant for planting. I selected to plant morning glory because it didn’t need a lot of water and grew up fast. One month past, it grew up enough for cooking. I harvested it to my home and my mother said that ‘I will make stir-fried morning glory as a dinner’
The noodle time and again pork with rice
In the morning of next day, I went to the same restaurant. I ordered same menu that is pork with rice, but pork noodle soup and herb boiled egg and tofu as a new menu.
You might be want to know how does its taste. I could honestly say that you’d better try it. My personal opinion I like pork noodle soup because soup was nice, I could taste some sweet that it was a texture of bone pork mixing herb, and personally I like noodle menu. Herb boiled tofu and egg were also taste good, we could smell of herb while chewing.

At Lunch time on the second day in Taipei, I’d like to try Din Tai Fung at first floor of Taipei 101. Xiao Long Bao is a first menu that I used to order before ordering another menu. Unfortunately, many people wanted to have lunch at Din Tai Fung as well. So, the table was not available at that time. I noticed there were many people queuing up for hours.
Luckily, a Taiwanese girl friend recommended me a new restaurant, but we would walk for 10 minutes-not far from Taipei 101. I heard so that I was agree with her suddenly.
After we arrived the destination, I felt excited. If we looked superficial of shop, it would seem cafe shop. But when we entered to the shop, it was amazing. The shop was small, but it had anything such as souvenirs, fruits or restaurant inside the shop.
Look ! what did I order? I ordered Taiwanese-style spicy pig ear salad with tomato soup and grilled pork leg hamburger. I would tell that try it, please. It was nice menu. I ate this new menu for the first time, and I could say that I love it.
Coffee time at Starbucks
I believe the Starbucks has become one of favorite coffee shop for many people. I am honestly say that I often order green tea latte and a piece of cake as my favorite drinking at Starbucks. There were many branch of Starbucks around the world. I love to have meal at Starbucks when I travel abroad as well.
At the hotel that I was staying during visiting Taipei, there was a Starbucks available on first floor. Of course, I had breakfast there before beginning my day.
I ordered Mango frappuccino and original menu in Taiwan together with green tea cake and cheese cake. I love the drinking and cakes very much. In my personal opinion, the drinking wasn’t so sweet mixing the piece of mango. I felt refresh when I drunk it. Green tea cake and cheese cake were tasty. I wish I could eat it again.
