The amazing of attractions in ”Taipei City”, it would offer a new experience of what we’ve never known before.

If we talk about landmark in Taipei, Liberty Square is one of interesting landmark and tourists attraction. It is a beautiful place and has magnificent of architectures, the Liberty Square is filled with excitement, offer historical of national memortial, and beautiful and great of architecture.

Overview of Liberty Square

The great architectures were built in Liberty Square area in the Zhongheng District,  it has served  as a major site for public gathering in Taipei. In addition, it was a symbol of of democratic progress as well. Nowadays, the Liberty Square is a popular place for public meeting.

The Liberty Square began since 1970s, at that time Taiwan was overwhelmed by  Chinese Nationalists or Kuomintang. This square opened for the firs time to the public as Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Square after his death in 1975. Chiang Kai-shek  was the President of the Republic of China who relocated to Taiwan after Kuomintang regime was destroyed in China during China civil war.

Layout of Liberty Square

I’ve created the simple layout of Liberty Square area, as we can see the below layout looking like free square. Absolutely, it is.  If you have chance to visit Taipei, this landmark would be a good option for your plan.

I entered to the square from the entrance between main gate and national theater. It’s no matter which is gate you have to enter. Here, there are two gate for us: main gate of Liberty Square and the gate between main gate and national theater. So, which is gate you are entering?

I felt I was a very small girl when I was in the center of the square, especially when I was  in front both hall. I’ve thought it might be because of the gigantic and magnificent of architectures. Absolutely, you will feel amazed and fascinated with a huge and beautiful of these architectures.

It wouldn’t exaggerate if  I said I looked like ant  amongst garden.

Entering to Liberty Square

This is the main gate of Liberty Square. The main gate, characterized by its white colour with five arched doors of construction, and the intense blue of the rooftop tiles. If we visited there on sunny day with clear sky, It would be incredibly impressive.

For more conveniently to visit there, we can take a MRT in green or red lines as well as Ubike station  just accross the road, by this way we can easy to access Liberty Square.

The north of Liberty Square : National Concert Hall

My starting point was around in front of main gate, my plan wanted to visit the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial as a my plan. I was walking along the path to the memorial. By the way, I saw two wonderful architectures : National Concert Hall and National Theater Hall. Both have a similar size, but there is a rooftop tiles difference.

National Concert Hall, has the traditional painting on the gables of the roof. I think this part is a pointed us distinguishing of both hall.

Fortunately, when I was in front this hall, I met many students they probably were high school students doing their activity in front of the hall. I attentively looked at them.

The west of Liberty Square: National Theater Hall

Another great and beautiful of architecture that is National Theater Hall. To make sure I did’t miss any part of this hall, I made an effort to capture the whole of this architecture. I spent time for a while to take a photo with this huge hall.

The hall, characterized by intense orange rooftop tiles, and many red pillars surrounding the body. I think  the intensity of orange and red colours of both hall making us easily to notice it.

My plan to visit : Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial

According to the historical, Chaing Kai-Shek  was a former leader of the Republic of China. He relocated to the Taiwan after dominance of of Chinese Nationalists or Kuomintang was destroyed in China.

Chaing Kai-shek memorial is the most remarkable historical landmark in Taiwan. The memorial hall was  erected in honor and memory of Chaing Kai-Shek. The Liberty Square was opened for the first time after he died in 1975 as a public park and gathering area.

The memorial hall, characterized by four sides with its white colour, and octagon-shaped, intense blue of rooftop tiles and red accents reminiscent the flag of the Republic of China . The building is approximately height 76 meters.

The symbolism of number eight represent traditional associated with  good fortune and wealth. The two set of white stairs, each with 89 steps representing Chaing Kai-Shek’s age of death.

The main hall of Chaing Kai-Shek statue

A huge statue of Chaing Kai-Shek was protected by five military personel which change hourly. The characters behind his statue meaning as following:

“Ethics”, “Democracy”, and “Science”

There is not only wonderful, great, beautiful and colorful architectures there, but also enjoying much of study of their historical in Taipei. It seems my world  is  opening to learn and know new things.  I think this place is one of my impression and interesting places for visiting Taipei, Taiwan.

Peaceful place, interesting of history, nice people and nice country. Absolutely, unique food and tasty.
