Barron Philippe De Rothchild Maipo Chile

Escudo Rojo is a Spanish language, which means “Red Shield” in English. Escudo Rojo (Es-cu-do Ro-ho) was produced in Chile by Barron Philippe De RothChild Maipo in 1997. Barron Philippe De Rothchild Maipo is a wine maker in Chile, originally process of making wine came from France.

He has selected the vineyards from the “Valle Central” to the south of Santiago. The Valle Central vineyards have a little rain but are not completely dry, the weather looks like the semi-arid Mediterranean, which has climate conditions, soil, rainfall, and topography are important factors for vine growing.

Taste of wine

This wine made from five kind of grapes: 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% of Carmenere, 11% of Syrah, 4% of Petit Verdot and 2% of Carbernet Franc.  It has a very dense colour.  Its colour is dark red and dark purple. For the firs time I drank it, I felt that its smell was similar to berry, like blue berry and black berry. The taste was smooth and dense of grape. It was easy to drink. I still can remember its taste while I am writing now.

Escudo Rojo label

The label of this wine was characterized by a red label with the symbol of red shield were trademark.
