Côtes Du Rhône 2015

Each vintage of wine has a unique which gives us a special taste. One of my favourite wine is Côtes du Rhône 2015, it is a quite tannin and dry taste.  Last October 2020,  Côtes du Rhône 2016 has been ordered by my husband as well. I think its taste was not so different than 2015.  We like to drink wine together with cheese and grapes. It is a perfect match.

The Domain Guigal

The founder of Guigal Domain was Etienne Guigal in 1946, it was founded in Ampuis (Rhone Prefecture), where was a ancient village at the heart of the Côte-Rôtie; in the northern Rhône wine region of France.  Côte-Rôtie in English means “the roasted slope”, and refers to the long hours of sunlight that these steep slope receive.

The vineyards are characterized by a steep slope and cultivated in terraces since many years ago. This steep slope formed by Rhône River.

The Outstanding Vineyards

Not only Côte-Rôtie but there were many outstanding vineyards that were cultivated by E. Guigal in Rhône also. Two main regions of wine came from north and south of Rhône.

North Rhône: Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Chāteau-Grillet, Saint-Joseph, Cornas, and Saint-Péray

South Rhône: Hermitage and Crozes-Hermitage

The average age of the vine is 35 years.

What taste look like?

Côstes Du Rhône 2015 is expression of 50% Syrah, 40% Grenache and 10% Mourvèdre. It is deep and dark red. Tasting on nose, we can get highly aromatics. It is the abundance of fruits and well-balance tannins. Its taste is a smooth tannins present through the full-bodied wine.

The label of this wine is characterized by vineyard terraces along the edge of Rhône River. Because of its outstanding symbol, we can easily recognize a kind of this wine well.
